According to the Arizona Republic, the agent for Anquan Boldin has renewed a request that the Cardinals trade the unhappy receiver. The Cardinals' stance remains unchanged, according to a team spokesman. They have no intention of trading Boldin and are hopeful of signing him to a contract extension.
Ending a 23-day absence as part of his contract dispute, Terrell Suggs was welcomed back with open arms, according to the Baltimore Sun. He signed a franchise tag tender that will pay him $8.5 million this season. Suggs will treat all of the Ravens' defensive linemen and linebackers to dinner on Thursday.
Lineman Jeff Otah is one of the victims in a carjacking, according to the Charlotte Observer. The Panthers' player's brother had actually borrowed the Cadillac Escalade, which investigators say was stolen by Marcellus Morris. Police identified the 19-year-old Morris as one of the gunmen and was wanted for several other crimes as well – including robberies, a kidnapping, drug crimes, and resisting police.
Running back Ronnie Brown's sprained right thumb means thumbs down for his participation in this week's home preseason game against Kansas City, according to the Miami Herald. Brown, who has played a decreasing number of games each of his three NFL seasons, brushed off any suggestion that he's injury prone.
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the initial diagnosis was that quarterback Tarvaris Jackson suffered a bruised right knee, but further tests revealed a sprain to his MCL. The injury could keep Jackson out of the game Saturday against the Steelers.
According to the Boston Globe, Tom Brady might not be sufficiently recovered from a right foot injury to participate in the Patriots' third exhibition game against the Eagles. Brady has yet to play this preseason and he didn't even make the trip with the team to Tampa for Sunday night's 27-10 loss.
As a result of his one-year suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, defensive tackle Claude Wroten is out $445,000. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, he could be out even more money, because the Rams have filed a grievance with the league for the pro-rated portion of Wroten's signing bonus.
